Beginning in 2027, the Island Biennale will be held every two years across Boryeong’s five islands (Wonsando, Godaedo, Sapsido, Janggodo, and Hyojado). The inaugural 2027 Island Biennale is scheduled to be held in and around Wonsando and Godaedo in April–May 2027.

Answer
The theme is “Moving Island : Beyond the Horizon of Event”. The “island” as a physical space is interpreted both as a symbol of individual existence and self, and as a fluid, “moving” entity in constant change. We seek, through an artistic approach, to imagine and question the future beyond the last boundary of the world as we perceive it, crossing the horizon where contemporary discourses and phenomena unfold.
